PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — A former Pullman man who was convicted of killing three Washington State University students and injuring four others in an auto crash has been released from prison.

36-year-old Frederick Russell was released from Larch Corrections Center Tuesday and will spend the next 18 months under the supervision of the California Department of Corrections.

Russell was speeding along State Route 270 between Moscow, Idaho, and Pullman on June 4, 2001, when he attempted to pass another vehicle. His vehicle collided with the car, lost control and collided with a second car.

Killed were WSU students Stacy Morrow, Ryan Sorensen and Brandon Clements.

Russell, then 22, was convicted in 2007 of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. His conviction came six years after the collision because he fled to Ireland before trial.

Justice in the US is darmatically unequal between states. Fred Russell certainly at least should have been tried by the state where he committed the crime. Does a rich daddy and good advice from rich layers help avoid penalties. I would hope not, but in this case?

I personally know one of the 3 he fucking killed and this story doesn’t tell but the p.o.s fled the country to Ireland and hid from the cops for months. So let’s let him out so he can kill more not to add it was like his 4th DUI
    Hmmm great choice

OK I misses the last part where it does say he fled it just pisses me off when I saw this. This guy SHOULD NOT be out

Three young loves giant least three others still suffering from injuries and he gets off free. My friend was one of his victims, and can’t believe he is out already….Fled to Ireland because extradition is harder, and no known DUO laws as strict as ours. Let’s pray he has learned his lesson and we don’t hear about him again.

I remember this one he left the country and hid out, also I think he is a Problem drinker with Multiple DUI’s. Just who we need loose on the streets. I wonder how long it will take him to get drunk and get in a car and kill more people…..with a little luck he may die soon of liver failure.

Too bad this creep coward loser drunk wasn’t killed by a hotheaded Irisman during his flight from justice or you could say his vacation. Maybe he vould kill himself.
