Alaska Airlines flight returns to Sea-Tac after bird strike

SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AP) — An Alaska Airlines flight en route from Seattle to San Jose, Calif., returned to Sea-Tac Thursday night because of a bird strike.

Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Halley Knigge said Flight 336 departed at about 8:50 p.m. and returned about 9:40 p.m. "out of an abundance of caution" for a full maintenance inspection. She said the bird strike occurred shortly after takeoff.

There were no injuries among the 112 passengers and five crew members aboard the Boeing 737.

She said the passengers were being put on another plane for their flight to San Jose.

Knigge said she did not have any details on the bird strike.
