Feds find cache of weapons linked to bank robber who had bunker near Sammamish

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Guns, ammunition, knives and camping gear have been found in a convicted bank robber's second cache, this one unearthed on a farm in rural northwest Portland, federal officials said Friday.

Bradley Robinett spent nearly five years on the run before he was arrested last summer in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro.

After his capture, authorities say they learned of three places he had stashed belongings.

In early March, the FBI offered a tour of an underground bunker near Sammamish that was reportedly used by Robinett. A spokeswoman said investigators hauled out large tubs of unspecified evidence.

KGW-TV in Portland reports (http://is.gd/k7OsvX ) that federal Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives spokesman Brian Bennett says ATF agents found two cases with weapons and survival equipment in late March in the second stash.

Agents have not discussed the location of the third cache.

Robinett fled in 2009 instead of reporting to a Seattle halfway house after serving time for bank robbery. After his arrest in Oregon, he pleaded guilty to escape and related charges. Sentencing is set for May 4.
