Police arrest person of interest in Spokane woman's death

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane Police say have arrested a person of interest in death of a 22-year-old woman found shot in her apartment last week.

KXLY reports that police on Thursday located 28-year-old Cameron Keith and arrested him on an outstanding warrant. Jail records shows he was booked into Spokane County Jail on Thursday.

Police have been looking for Keith to question him about the death of Christen DeMars, who died of her injuries March 24 after being shot. Demars had a restraining order against Keith and police say he may have been at the scene around the time of the shooting.

The Spokesman-Review reports the Spokane County medical examiner has not yet ruled whether DeMars' death was a homicide and said that determination would come after further police investigation.
