SEATTLE — King County Sheriff John Urquhart is defending his decision not to fire a deputy who admitted buying steroids.

This is just the latest chapter in what the sheriff called a case of police corruption, centering around a now-disgraced former deputy named Darrion Holiwell.

Holiwell was the sheriff’s office’s chief firearms instructor. He was fired for selling steroids, trying to pimp out his estranged wife, and stealing from the county’s gun range. He is now in prison for those crimes.

But the fallout from the case continues.

Documents that surfaced Friday show that a longtime deputy named Frank Stasiak admitted to buying steroids from Holiwell to "keep up with the younger cops."

Sheriff's office investigators recommended that he be fired, but Urquhart decided instead to suspend him for 30 days without pay.

I questioned the sheriff Friday about why Stasiak was allowed to keep his job, while another detective was fired for her involvement in the scandal. He said it all came down to honesty.

The female detective he was referring to is Robin Clearly, who worked major cases. She was fired last year and had been accused of tipping Holiwell off to the investigation.

The head of the office's SWAT  team also retired amid growing suspicions as to what he may have known about Holiwell`s actions.

Another member of the SWAT team resigned during an investigation into his involvement.

And even a Seattle police officer was caught up in the scandal after incriminating messages suggested he, too, bought steroids from Holiwell.

All law enforcement officers and employees should be required to have regular as well as unannounced testing for steroids and stimulants, drugs that can make them extra strong, aggressive and prone to rage. The program should be administered by people outside the LE community to reduce the chance for program corruption.

Well at least they fired a deputy that was found boating drunk and left his service weapon for kids to find… LOL! Law enforcement is absolutely pathetic out here… Do we have to wonder why criminals and even law abiding citizens are firing back with lethal force? Cop or no cop, your ass should be shot dead!

Robin Clearly has a job at Pinkerton Corporate Risk Management.. Wow!! Portions of the internal investigation are published by the Seattle times and several other news agencies just Google internal investigation and Robin Cleary..
Robin Cleary was fired for behavior unbecoming of an officer.. She lied to fellow officers and internal investigations up until the very end.. She admitted she put her friendship with a career criminal cop Darrion Holiwell over her duty, herself and her family.. How does someone who admits they ruined their career with the SPD over a friendship..
Seems to be more to the story. Maybe she owed him a favor? Who really knows..
She has proven and admitted she is untrustworthy and not credible.
I wonder if Pinkerton’s thousands of customer’s are aware that this disgraced ex cop is now working in a delicate position prevy to confidential information and in a position were her word needs to be the truth when she is not credible..
Any investigation at Pinkerton can’t be trusted with her.. How can she be believed????
