HUNTINGTON BEACH, California – A California lawyer is proposing an initiative that calls for the killing of gays and lesbians.

Matt McLaughlin is proposing the ‘Sodomite Suppression Act’ in which he declares “the people of California wisely command” that gays be punished “by bullets to the head or any other convenient method.”

Despite the fact that the proposal is clearly illegal, NPR News reported that there appears to be no legal way for state officials to stop McLaughlin from collecting enough signatures and qualifying the initiative for the ballot.

More than 365-thousand valid signatures would be needed to get the proposal in the ballot. Experts say that usually costs backers at least $1-million.

Multiple news organizations report reaching out to McLaughlin for comment, but have so far not been granted an interview.

Reaching out for a comment??? I think it’s obvious where this ‘wack-lander’ is coming from…..
Please don’t give him any more press. This is a cry for help,… I hope……… (jesus)

are the signatures in California initiatives available to the public via FOIA? Oh boy the fall out of this could be huge if anyone is truly spiteful enough to sign it.

If you have any ‘name’, at all, and you sign this petition, you most certainly will be called out, (if it is discovered that you signed it)

Seattle had a very valid initiative a few years back to officially declare Tim Eyman a Horses Azz. That was thrown out before it was on the ballot. I assume this garbage will be tossed in the recycling bin.

I have signed all petitions, just because you sign one don’t indicate that you support it, it simply says that you believe in voting on it, and I beleive in voting, and support the people having more say.

And people wonder why there are groups like the Pink Pistols, that promote arming themselves against such bigotry and hatred. They are fewer and further between than ever, but there are still those people that actually do hate and wish death upon those different than them. We should all retain the right and the choice to be able to defend ourselves effectively against such people, always, and always question the motives of those who would seek to take that right away.
