A neighbor says the baby lived there along with her parents and two siblings.

Police say a 52-year-old woman, the baby’s grandmother, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with self-inflicted wounds. The Tribune reports she harmed the baby because she would not stop crying.

She is in police custody at the hospital.
