1-year-old boy who was subject of Amber Alert in California found safe in Tijuana

LOS ANGELES -- A 1-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert in California was found safe Monday night  in Tijuana, Mexico, by U.S. Marshals, KTLA reported.

The boy’s father, Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, was also taken into custody by marshals in Tijuana, according to a tweet from the Los Angeles Police Department.

No other information on the child was released.

The Amber Alert was issued Monday for the boy who was abducted in San Pedro, Calif., following a violent Monday morning altercation involving his parents.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued the Amber Alert, saying the father and son could be headed to either Washington state or Mexico.

Police say the boy’s father, Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, has legal custody of the boy but is suspected of having stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend in San Pedgo, Calif., at about 1:30 p.m. Monday.
