SPD: One injured in South Lake Union shooting

SEATTLE - One person was injured early Saturday in a shooting in South Lake Union, with no arrests yet made.

A gas station employee called 911 to report a fight between two men in a parking lot at 6th and Denny Way around 1:15 a.m. Seattle Police Det. Drew Fowler said that as the 911 call was taking place, both men pulled out guns and started shooting.

By time officers arrived, one man had left. But the other was still in the parking lot, having been shot in the abdomen. That man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, and Fowler said the injury was non-life-threatening.

Investigators picked up numerous shell casings at the scene. Fowler said that some witnesses were also interviewed, and that SPD gang detectives have taken over the investigation.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 911 and ask for an officer.
