Seattle police investigating possible luring incident in South Park neighborhood

SEATTLE -- A Seattle school is warning parents after a 14-year-old student said a driver pulled up to her at a bus stop Wednesday morning and tried to strike up a conversation and then followed her as she walked away.

In a letter sent to parents, Pathfinder School says the man followed the student in his car near Trenton Street in the South Park neighborhood.

When the girl tried to walk away, he continued to follow her asking questions like “where are you going” and “what are you doing,” according to police.

The man eventually drove off and the student boarded her bus. Police say the girl then called 911 and her parents.

Pathfinder School is reminding parents to talk with their kids about personal safety. School officials recommend students walk in groups and avoid strangers.

If you have any information about the incident, you are encouraged to contact Seattle police.
