Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar retiring

Below is a letter released Tuesday from Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar: Dear LPD Family,I wanted you all to be the first to know that I will be retiring from law enforcement next month, on April 6th, 2015.  Without a doubt, it has been a long, eventful, and amazing ride and while I’m sad to see it all end, I also know that the time has come to focus on my family and all the things we’ve been dreaming about doing for so many years.I will be giving my official notice to the City Manager tomorrow, but wanted to take a moment, first, to tell each and every one of you, well most of you, how much I’ve enjoyed working with you.  It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you for the past 10 years.   We have seen each other through some of the most trying, and most exhilarating, times of my career, and my life, and I cannot imagine going through it all with anyone else.  My final act as Chief will be on April 6th at the opening game for the Mariners.  I can think of no more fitting way to go out than carrying the American Flag into the stadium with you all, in Honor of Mark, Greg, Ronnie and Tina.Thank you, again, for your support, your dedication and your professionalism.  Sincerely,Bret
