Police: Man killed woman, sexually violated corpse

LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Police have arrested a man suspected of killing a woman at her Longview apartment as part of a sex crime.

Detective Sgt. Chris Blanchard says a woman returned to her apartment Sunday afternoon, found her roommate's body and discovered a man there.

Responding officers and Cowlitz County deputies arrested 36-year-old Lucas Rasmussen of Longview. He was booked into jail early Monday for investigation of murder, burglary, and sexually violating human remains. The victim was not identified.

Records show Rasmussen has a criminal history that includes drug offenses, indecent exposure, criminal trespass, car prowling and malicious mischief.
