Marysville school won't reopen cafeteria where students shot

MARYSVILLE, Wash. (AP) — Marysville-Pilchuck High School won't reopen the cafeteria where a student shot five friends and killed himself.

The Daily Herald reports the school board is following wishes expressed at a December forum and in a recent survey.

Since the shooting in October, students have been eating lunch in the gym.

The district is looking for funds for a new cafeteria and some have recommended replacing the entire school, which is 44 years old.
