SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle police detectives say while Seahawks’ fans were watching their team defeat the Green Bay Packers in the Jan. 18 NFC championship game in Seattle, a young couple were busy breaking into fans’ vehicles.

Police say they’ve built a case against the man and woman and are working with King County prosecutors in an effort to bring charges.

In a statement, police say they believe a 20-year-old man shattered the windows of four different vehicles and grabbed backpacks, Seahawks gear, clothing and computers before fleeing in a car driven by his 20-year-old girlfriend.

Working with information from a witness, detectives spent weeks working to identify the couple, then got a warrant for their car. Police say they found wallets, IDs and bank cards inside that car.
