Report: Expedia considers moving headquarters outside of Bellevue

BELLEVUE -- Travel giant Expedia is considering relocating its 3,000 person headquarters out of the city of Bellevue, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported Thursday.

According to the PSBJ, Expedia CFO Mark Okerstrom said the company is committed to staying in the Puget Sound area and Bellevue was certainly still a possible location. However, the company is keeping an eye out for other spots.

"We're not constraining ourselves to the downtown Bellevue area in terms of our search," Okerstrom told PSBJ.

The company leases about 503,000 square feet in Bellevue, with its lease expiring in 2018. The company is one of the area's largest employers, with most working at the tower at 333 108th Ave. N.E.

Rumored potential moving spots for the online giant include Seattle's waterfront, the PSBJ reported.
