Police investigating 'inappropriate contact' between student, teacher at Bellevue High School

BELLEVUE -- Police are investigating a staff member at Bellevue High School for allegedly having 'inappropriate contact' with a student.

According to Medina Police Department Chief Steve Burns, the staff member was placed on administrative leave after allegations came forward.

Burns wouldn't confirm the gender of staff member or student. Burns did say, however, the contact occurred at a location outside the high school.

A letter sent home to Bellevue High School students said school administrators were aware of the investigation, and that the incident involved "non-teaching staff."

"The staff member has been placed on administrative leave and does not have access to district property while these allegations are being investigated," the letter read. "We will continue to cooperate with Medina Police throughout their investigation."
