East Moline, IL — An elementary school is offering yoga to help students deal with anxiety.

Guidance counselor Farah Anderson offers the class twice a week during recess for first through fourth graders at Ridgewood Elementary School in East Moline, Illinois.

“I see with a lot of kids with anxiety whether its separation, tests, generalized anxiety, so it was my hope that it would help some of those kids,” said Anderson.

Besides doing poses, the kids also do breathing exercises. Anderson hopes yoga will help the students feel more relaxed wherever they are.

“I feel a lot more happier, and I feel a lot more stretchier,” said student Devaeah Harker.

“We hope they take what they’ve learned from here into the classroom or into the cafeteria and still enjoy those places but in a more calm manner,” said Anderson. She said she’s also had a lot of support for the yoga class from parents and teachers.

Well, here’s the double standard showing its ugly head. Also shows the hypocrisy of the public school system. Yoga, IS a Hindu religion. Taken from The Hindu American Foundation (HAF)
“Yoga Beyond Asana: Hindu Thought in Practice” and
“The essence of yoga is to reach oneness with God.” – Pattabhi Jois1
Betcha, the big guns would come out and outright show the discrimination if a Christian class were offered.

From the article: “She said she’s also had a lot of support for the yoga class from parents and teachers.”
If I was a gambler, I’d be willing to bet money that this is a bold faced lie. This same thing is being done in California and it has parents wanting to pull their children out of the school. Come to find out that the Yoga organization down there, PAID, the school district to allow them to conduct the class. It’s always follow the money. We’ve got the best Congress money can buy. Our state has the best legislature money can buy. (don’t think for a moment our legislators don’t take into consideration those corporations that donate campaign contributions to their pocket when considering Bills that put money back into the pocket of those business interests. And now we’ve got school districts that are up for sale. (dictionary defined Fascism in action) Corruption has infiltrated our country to the very heart of it.
