Seattle City Councilmember Sally Clark won't seek re-election

SEATTLE -- City Councilmember Sally Clark announced Wednesday that she won't seek re-election this year.

"After almost 10 years of service to the people of the greatest city in the country, and with tremendous and valued colleagues, it's time for me to start a new chapter. I will not run for re-election to Seattle City Council this fall," Clark said.

Clark has been on the council since 2006, and has served as council president. Clark has also served as executive director of the Northwest Association for Housing Affordability, worked as a legislative aide at the King County Council and as director of community resources at Lifelong AIDS Alliance.

All of the city's nine council seats are up for re-election.
