Grammy nominated singer arrested after allegedly punching female fan on stage during concert (VIDEO)

BILOXI, Mississippi --  A Grammy nominated singer is facing charges after allegedly punching a female fan on stage during a Mardi Gras performance reported WLOX-TV.

Joseph Foreman, known as Afroman on stage, was caught on camera during a Tuesday performance at a concert in Biloxi Mississippi.

In the video, posted on Facebook, a woman can be seen coming up next to Foreman while he played guitar only to have him turn and throw a punch.

The woman can be seen falling instantly to the ground.

WLOX reported that the woman made a citizen’s arrest and filed an affidavit against Foreman.

Police told the television station Foreman paid the bond and was released.

Billboard quoted a spokesman for the singer saying that his back was to the woman initially and was surprised when he turned around and saw her right there next to him.

"This was a completely involuntary reflex reaction to people infringing on his stage space," his rep said in a prepared statement. "It was uncharacteristic behavior that was initiated by outside uncontrolled forces."
