Meth lab scare at north Seattle apartment complex, but nothing found

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle police were notified of a possible methamphetamine lab in a north Seattle apartment Tuesday afternoon. But they said later that they had found no meth.

Firefighters had suited up in protective gear and entered the residence, where they found a 30-year-old man unconscious. A police spokesman said the man was taken to a hospital with unspecified, non-life threatening injuries.

Officers temporarily blocked a section of 15th Avenue Northeast as a precaution but reopened it shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said they would work with the Washington State Patrol crime lab and the Seattle Fire hazmat team to dispose of any dangerous materials.
