Polar Plunge 2015: WMW host David Rose joins hundreds ‘Freezin’ for a Reason’ in Seattle

SEATTLE -- I was 'Freezin for a Reason' at Seattle's Golden Gardens Park last weekend. Almost 500 of us including the ‘Nearly Nekkid Norwegians’ and officers with Seattle police, including Capt. John Hayes who wore a skirt made out of crime scene tape, braved the cold waters of the Puget Sound and windy day. He's a great spor! Also, members of the King County Sheriff's Office, Bothell police, Mukilteo police, Edmonds police, and Renton police helped raise more than $130,000 for Special Olympics athletes.

“This crew right here. We like to have a good time,” boasted Erik Johnson with the ‘Nearly Nekkid Norwegians’. “But, we want to do good things for everybody. Why not come out and have fun and make everybody else feel a bit better.” Erik and his crew took home spirit and costume prizes. So if it sounds like fun to you, there's another Polar Plunge on February 21st at Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. Head to specialolympicswashington.org to sign up.
