SEATTLE -- Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will not have surgery on his injured elbow, according to sources.

FOX Sports 1 NFL Insider Mike Garafolo first reported the news Monday afternoon.

Sherman suffered torn ligaments in his left elbow during the NFC Championship, but that did not stop him from playing in the Super Bowl.

Head coach Pete Carroll initially said Sherman would need to undergo surgery during the off-season.
