Landslide forces suspension of Amtrak service between Bellingham-Vancouver

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Passenger train service between Bellingham and Vancouver, B.C., was suspended Monday night due to a landslide, Amtrak announced.

The BNSF Railway Co. tracks, which are used by Amtrak Cascades trains, are expected to reopen Wednesday night, Amtrak said.

Alternate transportation with chartered buses is being provided and will cover all missed stops, Amtrak said. Normal train operations continue for trains that don't serve these stations.
