Video of Mark’s genius invention quickly shot to the top spot on the front page of reddit Friday morning.

This technology isn’t technically new. It’s been used in the railroad industry for years to backup vehicles with no backup gear. He does get the simplicity award for creating it from items from the local hardware store.

I drove a 69 Ford truck with no reverse for 3 years (had a shop rebuild the trans and still had no reverse which they said wasn’t their fault. ) then I trained to be an auto tech and fixed it myself. I just picked places where I could drive through or roll back into.
