Mom charged with trying to sell her 14-year-old daughter to man for sex in exchange for rent money
SEATTLE — A 46-year-old mother has been charged with commercial sexual abuse of a minor for allegedly trying to sell her 14-year-old daughter to her trucker ‘boyfriend’ for sex in exchange for rent money, court documents showed Friday.
In a new development Friday night, the Washington State Patrol said the ‘boyfriend’ — a 38-year-old man from Miami, Okla. — had been arrested by authorities in Oklahoma late Friday and was booked in jail to await extradition back to Washington.
The mother of the girl, Mary Miles, of Carnation, was arrested in Bellevue on Jan. 27 and charged on Jan. 30.
According to a Washington State Patrol report filed in court, Miles “made arrangements to allow her boyfriend, a trucker she had met online, to have sex with her 14-year-old daughter … in exchange for the boyfriend assisting the defendant with rent money.”
It said Miles took her daughter on Jan. 26 to the boyfriend’s truck at Ken’s Truck Town in North Bend, where Miles and the boyfriend engaged in sex and, during sex, the trucker reached over and grabbed the daughter’s leg. The scared girl fled the truck and walked to her middle school miles away, where her sister picked her up. She and her minor sister called police.
“In the subsequent investigation, the defendant admitted to agreeing to allow her boyfriend to have sex with … (her 14-year-old daughter) or her other minor daughter, and text messages between the defendant and the boyfriend graphically described what the boyfriend intended to do with the girls,” the State Patrol report said.
The boyfriend was still at large until his arrest in Oklahoma late Friday.
During questioning, police said in court documents, Miles “admitted that ‘Bryan’ wanted to have sex with her daughters and especially” the 14-year-old “because she was a virgin.”
Police said the agreed-upon price was $400.
The girl and her sister have been removed from the family home and placed into protective custody, the State Patrol said.
