Police: Armed robber hides stolen money 'in between his buttocks'

SEATTLE -- Apparently an accused armed robber simply couldn’t clench long enough to retain the two $20 bills police say he stole Tuesday morning.

Seattle Police say they were called to a robbery near a gas station at Broadway and East Pike Street around 2:30am.

Officers say when they arrived they found a 42-year-old man who had allegedly pulled a knife on another man outside the business and taken $40.00.

Police say they searched the man and found the knife, but couldn’t find the cash.

Still the knife was enough and the man was taken to the East Precinct where it seems his resolve deteriorated.

“He volunteered that he had stashed the money in between his buttocks,” wrote Detective Drew Fowler in a blog post.

Lucky for the officers, Fowler says the man retrieved the cash himself and was booked into the King County Jail.
