King County sheriff's deputy arrested for allegedly threatening to kill girlfriend

SEATTLE (AP) — The King County sheriff's office confirms that a deputy accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend was arrested for investigation of domestic violence.

The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/P7ycVZ ) the 34-year-old deputy was arrested Sunday and released from jail Monday. The Times did not identify him.

Court documents say the deputy and his girlfriend have been dating and living together for more than two years. The deputy reportedly became upset after his girlfriend emailed his mother about a breakup.

The man was hired with the sheriff's office in 2005.

The prosecutor's office will make any decision on charges. Sheriff's Sgt. DB Gates says there will be a separate administrative investigation to determine whether the man violated any policies.
