BOSTON -- They may have won the Super Bowl, but the New England Patriots did not get the welcome home celebration anyone was expecting.

The Patriots' plane arrived late Monday to a lot of snow, but not a ton of excitement.

And while some fans braved the elements to welcome the team home, the celebration was postponed until Wednesday because of the weather.

Some people hit the streets Sunday night after the win, but Patriots fans looking for the party Monday night were disappointed.

"It's a little embarrassing to come downtown after winning the Super Bowl and just not see any fans or anybody here at all really," one Patriots fan told a CNN affiliate in Boston.

"We came down hoping to celebrate with people. It's sort of disappointing -- we could have done the same thing in our apartments," said another Pats fan.
