Local drama teacher accused of raping student, parents told of her arrest in letter

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A drama teacher at Evergreen High School in Vancouver is accused of raping a student.

Police arrested 35-year-old Stephanie McCrea on Tuesday, and she's scheduled to make her first court appearance Wednesday.

The Columbian reports  the school sent a letter home to parents telling them of the arrest. It said no other students have come forward with additional allegations.



McCrea has been a teacher at the school since 2006 and also taught English. She was placed on leave earlier this month when the rape investigation began.
