Thousands show up to send Seahawks off to Super Bowl (PHOTOS)

KING COUNTY -- It felt like a game day, but that’s still a week away.

What the thousands of Seahawks fans lining the street in SeaTac were doing Sunday morning was a giant thank-you for an incredible season, and to send the Hawks off in the loudest way possible, as the team buses drove to the airport on the way to the Super Bowl.

“I want for them to see that a lot of people are here to support them,” said Marsha Shiriwasdo, decked in blue and green air and a Seahawks jersey.

The support at the Super Bowl send-off along the bus route is even stronger than last year. Generations of families showed up.

“It’s beautiful, it’s a great feeling,” said Joe Brown, joined by his son, daughter-in-law and new grandson Emmanuel. The little guy, dressed in all Seahawks gear, including a Seahawks pacifier, was still on the way when the Hawks won the Super Bowl last year. This time, he’s here for the big game.

“He has more Seahawks gear than his parents,” said Brown.

As the convoy of players finally passed through, thousand screamed and Skittles were seen hitting the side of the busses, a proper send-off for a team going back to the Super Bowl.
