12s ready to send off Seahawks to Super Bowl
Thousands of Seahawks fans have lined the streets of SeaTac on Sunday morning to send off the Seattle Seahawks for their Super Bowl adventure.
Legions of 12s started lining up along 188th early on Sunday morning to get a prime spot to see the team as they head to SeaTac Airport. Traffic was already heavy in areas where parking was recommended, such as Chinook Middle School, the Tyee Educational Complex, SeaTac City Hall and the Alaska Airlines headquarters.
The Seahawks will be leaving the Virginia Mason Athletic Center at 9 am to head to the airport. They will be escorted to the airport, with fans likely lining overpasses over I-405 and streets in Renton, along with the 12s on 188th.
There will be closures throughout the route. Troopers will close the 188th exit from I-5 at 8:30 am, and will keep it closed until after the Seahawks have passed.
There will be no public access at SeaTac Airport for fans to see the team depart.
