SEATTLE — Chris Eastwood and his family are looking to Seahawks fans and Super Bowl bound travelers to help rally around his son Jake.

The 12-year old, a young three-sport athlete was diagnosed at the end of December with bone cancer.

“Jake is just a trooper, he is an absolute inspiration to me,” said Chris. “He`s in good spirits and we`re kind of taking it day by day, but he`s a fighter.”

Jake is in for a serious fight, one that includes surgery and months of chemotherapy, but he’s got a growing team pulling for him, including a former Seahawk.

“We want to be there to rally around this family like this entire community has done around the Seahawks,” said Kerry Carter. Carter used to play fullback for the Hawks, and now owns Apex Agency,  which helps create the ultimate fan experience for clients.

One of those is a trip aboard a private jet to the Super Bowl. Each passenger will also be contributing to Jake’s fight against cancer.

“I think that finding a way to help Jake and his family was the ultimate way to do utilize this platform for something good,” said Carter.

Friends of Jake’s family have also started a Super Bowl challenge to help Jake. Anybody taking part agrees to donate $10 dollars for each touchdown the Seahawks score in the biggest game of the year.

Jake’s dad says people around the northwest, especially in his community of Mill Creek, are already jumping on board.

“The love that our entire community and Kerry has come to rally around us  and our family is just amazing,” Chris said.
