University of Washington engineering center researching technology with Boeing

SEATTLE (AP) — Boeing employees are working as affiliate instructors at a new research center at the University of Washington in Seattle.

The university says four initial projects are already underway at the Boeing Advanced Research Center.

The center was formally launched Monday by Gov. Jay Inslee, University of Washington President Michael K. Young and Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner.

The center in the Department of Mechanical Engineering focuses on advanced assembly and manufacturing technologies for aircraft and spacecraft.
