Grocery store employee allegedly robs co-worker at gunpoint, still goes to work next day

CHICAGO -- A man accused of robbing a co-worker at gunpoint apparently thought he still had a job after the robbery, and showed up for work the next day, WGN reports.

According to WGN,  the suspect, Larry Murdock, worked at a Jewel Osco grocery store in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.

A 19-year-old co-worker allegedly invited Murdock to hang out Monday night. But when Murdock showed up, police said, he and an accomplice robbed the co-worker at gunpoint and stole cash, jewelry, boots, a hat and an iPhone.

After the robbery, Murdock allegedly called the victim to say he could have his belongings back for $1,200.

But the brazen robbery seemed like normal affair for Murdock, WGN reports. He showed up for work the next day, police said.

The victim, who was also at work, called police. The suspect was arrested at the grocery store.

He is being held in jail on suspicion of armed robbery.
