Washington State Patrol trooper dies suddenly at Yakima hospital



YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Washington State Patrol troopers are stunned by the sudden death of Trooper Clayton J. Gocha in Yakima.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports he worked Friday but grew sick over the weekend and went to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital where he died Monday of complications from pneumonia.

The patrol says the 48-year-old served 17 years with the patrol in Yakima and Tacoma. He also served 13 years with the Marine Corps.
