Rick Springfield to testify over his buttocks

SYRACUSE, New York -- 1980s pop icon Rick Springfield is set to testify today in a lawsuit over his buttocks.

Vicki Calcagno of Liverpool, New York, says Springfield struck her with his buttocks during a concert in 2004.  According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Calcagno claims Springfield's buttocks caused "serious, disabling and permanent injuries" after she was knocked unconscious.

Springfield is best known for the hit "Jesse's Girl" and for starring on the soap opera "General Hospital" in the 1980s.  On Tuesday, Springfield testified that he didn't see Calcagno fall.

This is a retrial in the case; the first trial abruptly ended in 2013.  The judge declared a mistrial after a second witness stepped forward, saying she also was knocked down by Springfield's buttocks at the same concert.
