SEATTLE (AP) — King County prosecutors have filed a second-degree murder charge against a 22-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his father after what was described as a daylong argument over the father’s order that the son move out of the family home in suburban Redmond.

The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/U1VdEg) that Mark Karasek was charged Tuesday in the Jan. 9 shooting of Zdenek Karasek.

Court documents say the younger man was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Convicted of vehicular assault in March 2013, he was barred from possessing guns. Bail has been set at $2 million.

Mark Karasek is accused of shooting his father with a .40-caliber handgun as the older man ate radishes in a sitting room, striking him in the face and back.

Charging papers say Karasek’s 11-year-old brother and grandmother were able to flee the house after the shots were fired and ran to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
