Human remains found near Lake Stevens; police investigating

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating human remains found Saturday at or near a home in the Lake Stevens area.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 1 p.m. Saturday that remains were found by a home owner in the 12000 block of 7th Place SE. Sheriff’s Office investigators as well as the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office drove to the scene.

The age, sex of the body found and cause of death are unknown at this time. It is also unknown if the remains are associated with a known missing persons investigation, deputies said.

Little other information was immediately available.

Identification of the human remains will be released by the medical examiner’s office.
