'Ketchup 'n' Fries' -- Tomatoes and potatoes grafted into 1 plant

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon seed company is offering gardeners potatoes and tomatoes in one plant.

The Territorial Seed Company in Cottage Grove calls it "Ketchup 'n' Fries."

The Oregonian reports the plant was developed in the United Kingdom.

The seed company says since potatoes and tomatoes are fairly closely related, they graft well together. It's not genetic engineering.

Gardeners can harvest a double crop of red cherry tomatoes and white potatoes from the plant also called a TomTato.
