Cold Snap to End the Year

A ridge of high pressure will keep the clouds away and bring us dry, cold weather for the next few days. Today and tomorrow, expect cold, sunny days with highs in the mid 30s, and cold, clear nights with lows dropping to the 20s or even the teens. This is about 10 degrees below normal. New Year's Day will be mostly sunny and a little bit warmer, highs near 40. Clouds move back in on Friday and there is a chance of a few showers, especially on the coast. It'll be warm enough that lowland showers will be all rain with highs in the mid 40s. The weekend looks mainly dry, but there is a chance of showers, especially on Sunday. Monday, there is a chance of showers, with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s.
