GLENDALE, Ariz. — It takes a lot of confidence for a proud 12 to wind their way through this sea of red.

Outside University of Phoenix Stadium, the tailgating scene is an event in itself.

“Are you intimidated?” I asked two female fans decked out in Hawks Blue and Green, being jeered by hoards of Cardinal fans.

“Not at all,” she replied. “These fans are great. But we own this place, just like we are going to own this day.”

Thousands of Seahawks fans are here. Hundreds of them actually live here, but bleed blue and green.

Kenny Bishop bussed three separate bus loads of fans to the game from The Skeptical Chymist, a bar dedicated to Seahawks and Huskies fans in Scottsdale.

“I started the Arizona SeaHawkers chapter in ’06, after the Super Bowl, and it’s grown and grown. We have almost 500 members. Last year, we had 2,000 people at the bar for Super Bowl Sunday.”

Sunday’s game could be a dress rehearsal for the Hawks for the Super Bowl, which will be played here in February. These fans are confident the Hawks will be part of it . They plan to be, too!

Having lived a long time in both cities, I can tell you that Phoenix is a much better place to live than Seattle, but in the game of football it is no contest – the Seahawks are the windshield and the Cardinals are the bug

All through the end of the game last night, I could hear SEA – HAWKS in the background from the announcers booth. It was a great feeling listening to it.

Hey bill, where’s the video from last week where the news casters are wearing seahawk gear. But most important there shout out to the seahawks. GO SEAHAWKS.
