Police cruiser involved in 2-car crash; 4 taken to hospital as precaution

SNOHOMISH COUNTY-- A police cruiser was involved in a two-car crash that sent four people to the hospital for evaluation late Thursday.

According to the Washington State Patrol and the Arlington Police Department, a 43-year-old officer was en route to a domestic violence call with sirens on when his Ford Crown Victoria was struck by a 20-year-old driver in a Ford Fiesta around 10 p.m. Thursday at an intersection on Smokey Point Boulevard.

As a precaution, four people, including the officer were transported to Cascade Valley Hospital for evaluation. They were all released a short time later.

The officer's K9 partner was also transported to an area veterinary clinic for evaluation. The dog was later released.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the collision.
