ISSAQUAH — An area middle school is closed for the second day in a row after a typed note found outside a classroom promised violence against teachers and students.

A teacher at the school in 24000 block of SE Issaquah Fall City Road found the note Wednesday that “contains unspecified threats to do violence at lunch or during the school’s winter assembly Friday,” as well as against four staff members, school officials said in a release.

Pacific Cascade Middle School was closed again Thursday following the threat. Police and investigators are still trying to determine who wrote the note, and since no new information has come to light, school was canceled again.

It was not yet known if the school would be closed Friday, too. A determination will be made depending on the progress of the investigation.

The school district is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the threat, district officials announced Thursday. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 911 or Dana Bailey, the school’s principal, at BaileyD@issaquah.wednet.edu.

The school will consider possible makeup days for the missed classes later in the school year.
