KENT — Police are searching for a stolen car that they say attempted to run over an officer Saturday morning in Kent.

Federal Way police tried to stop the car around 4:00 a.m. in the 31200 block of Pacific Highway. Officers used spike strips after the driver did not stop.

Police said the driver of the stolen car drove directly at an officer who had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The officer fired several rounds, but the suspect kept driving and escaped.

The car is described as a silver Mercedes SUV with Washington license plate 559-ZCW.
