Canadian man arrested at Seattle airport on manslaughter warrant

SEATTLE (AP) — Federal agents arrested a 20-year-old Vancouver, British Columbia man after he arrived in Seattle on a flight from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection officers took Samir Mokhtar into custody Wednesday at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after his name came up on a check of the National Crime Information Database. It showed that he was wanted on an active warrant in Vancouver for a manslaughter using a firearm charge.

Mokhtar was held overnight at the Northwest Detention Center and taken to Blaine, Washington on Thursday, where he was turned over to Canadian authorities.
