Local school on high alert following online threats

MILL CREEK -- A local high school is on high alert after a string of disturbing comments were made online.

Parents of students at Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek received a notification early Wednesday morning that a number of threatening comments were found online, and that school officials and police are monitoring the threats.

According to information obtained by Q13 FOX News, the non-specific threats were made on Twitter by an alleged current student. This was not immediately confirmed by police.

The Mill Creek Police department received more than 100 calls about the threats, Everett Public Schools administrators said, and law enforcement officers were trying to determine the identity of the individual behind the postings.

An increased police presence was on campus Wednesday morning, administrators said.
