BOTHELL — Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who allegedly stepped out of a parked car, grabbed a 12-year-old girl, yelled boo and took off once he noticed others around.

The reported luring happened around 3 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 196th Street SE and 24th Drive SE in Bothell, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 12-year-old girl who attends Skyview Junior High was walking home from her bus stop when an unknown man got out of a parked car and grabbed her. The man yelled “boo,” deputies said, before he noticed three other students in the area and hopped back into his vehicle and drove off.

The girl called police. Witnesses to the incident corroborated her account of the events, deputies said.

Law enforcement officers searched for the man, but could not find him in the area.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-40s, 5’8″-5’11” tall with gray, medium length hair and a gray beard. He was driving a tan-colored standard cab pickup truck.

Anyone who has information on this incident is encouraged to call 911.
