Traveling over the passes this weekend? Might want to bring the chains

SNOQUALMIE PASS -- Forecasters expect anywhere from a foot to 16 inches of snow to fall in the next 24 hours in the Cascades, making travel difficult at times.

The National Weather Service issued the Winter Weather Advisory. The heaviest snowfall is expected in the upper elevations on Friday afternoon and evening.

At times the snow could be falling up to one inch per hour.

Winter driving conditions can be expected at elevations above 3,500 feet.

Mount Baker and highway 2 at Stevens Pass are likely to see the most snowfall. This winter weather advisory lasts through Saturday morning at 6 a.m.
