OLYMPIA — Police on Friday arrested a 13-year-old girl at Reeves Middle School who was wielding two knives and carrying a note threatening staff and fellow students, the Olympia Police Department said.

No one was injured.

The girl was booked into Thurston County Juvenile Detention for the crime of felony harassment and dangerous weapons in a school, police spokeswoman Laura Wohl said.

Police were called to the school at about 11:50 a.m., after girl had exited a bathroom carrying two knives and who “appeared to be agitated,” Wohl said.

Administrators were able to coax the girl into a conference room and when police officers arrived, the girl dropped the knives, Wohl said.

“No force was used and she was handcuffed without further incident,” Wohl said.  “Upon searching her, the officers found a note threatening students and staff.

“During the incident, no students were confronted by the girl and no one was hurt.  School staff defused the situation quickly through their swift and effective actions, Wohl said.
