Owners of stolen wedding albums found via social media: 'I think it's pretty amazing,' a happy wife says

SEATTLE -- Police had found some stolen wedding albums in a thief's loot, yet had no idea who the people were in the photos.  But thanks to social media, that Seattle couple was identified -- and their precious mementos were returned Thursday night.

Detectives had found these photos in a stash of stolen items from a prolific package thief.

Seattle police sent out an alert on social media earlier, asking for anyone who recognized the couple to contact them.

One of our Q13 FOX News producers found the owners, Erin Combs and Mike Monroe, online and contacted Erin -- and a meeting was arranged for detectives to return the albums.

"I think it's pretty amazing ... power of social media, if you ask me," Erin said Thursday night.

One of the  photo albums is for her 94-year-old grandmother who couldn't make it to the wedding.

So it was a big deal for the happy couple -- and a happy grandmother in Ohio, too.
